Retailers PENNY and MR. DIY expand presence in Czech Republic

Retailers are expanding their presence in the Czech Republic. PENNY has opened its first store in Pohořelice, located in a shopping center on Znojemská Street. The new facility covers over 850 square meters and includes features such as an in-store bakery and 135 parking spaces. This marks the second new PENNY location in the South Moravian Region this August, following a recent opening in Brno.

Simultaneously, the Malaysian retail chain MR. DIY is entering the Czech market, with its first store planned for the Forum Nová Karolina in Ostrava. The company aims to open four to five stores this year and plans to expand to over one hundred locations long-term. MR. DIY will offer a variety of products, including household goods, electronics, tools, and toys, positioning itself as a competitor to existing discount chains like Action and Pepco.
