Retailers turn to real‑time point‑of‑sale technology to boost sales

Retailers in Peru and Spain are accelerating the adoption of real‑time point‑of‑sale (POS) technologies to replace manual reporting with instant data. Solutions such as field‑data platforms, automated dashboards, geolocation, real‑time alerts and image‑recognition AI enable rapid identification of stock gaps, display errors and promotional issues, allowing immediate corrective actions. Sergio López, Business Intelligence sub‑manager at Adecco Peru, says the shift makes technology a strategic tool for faster, more efficient commercial decisions.

Alongside the tech rollout, experts are offering over 365 ideas for retailers to improve profitability, stressing the need to prioritize product families based on profitability and stock, combine traditional themes with modern offerings, and promote human and environmental values. They advise focusing on developments that are easy to activate and attract broad interest to maximize return on investment.
