Rethymno expands cultural programming across villages and cities
The Municipality of Rethymno is significantly expanding its cultural programming, moving beyond the summer season to include a robust autumn schedule. The initiative aims to highlight the unique identity of the region's 101 villages, increasing village-based events from 10 in 2024 to over 30 this year, with a target of 45 events by 2027.
Key upcoming highlights include the commemoration of the 160th anniversary of the Arkadi Monastery Holocaust in November, featuring an exhibition of Ivan Aivazovsky's work. Additionally, the city will host architectural presentations from university students in October and the 9th N. S. Art Festival at the House of Culture from late October through November.
