Rethymno Municipality offers free Greek courses for migrants

The Social Service of the Municipality of Rethymno, through the Community Center, is offering free Greek language courses to migrant communities residing in Rethymno. The initiative aims to facilitate daily communication, enhance social integration, and encourage active participation in local society.

The program includes three specialized tracks:

- A beginner section for the Indian community, held every Thursday from 19:00 to 21:00. - An advanced section for migrants of all nationalities seeking to improve existing skills, held every Tuesday from 19:00 to 21:00. - A section specifically for Arabic-speaking migrants, focusing on practical daily communication, held every Friday from 18:00 to 20:00.

The courses are taught by Intercultural Mediator Azer Ekramy and volunteer educator Roula Koumentakakou. The six-month program is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the Community Center's Intercultural Mediation Office located at 8 Vernadou Street.
