Greece Socca national team prepares for World Cup in Essen

The Greek national Socca team has officially presented its squad and jersey ahead of the 7th Socca World Cup (6x6 football), which will take place in Essen, Germany, from August 28 to September 6. Currently ranked 5th globally, the Greek men's team, led by coach Giorgos Bastakis, will compete in Group 3 against Ireland, Colombia, and Syria. The Greek women's team will also participate in the tournament.

In addition to the World Cup, the city of Rethymno is preparing to host several major international Socca events starting October 15. These include the TUI Socca Champions League, the Aegean Cup for men's and women's national teams, and the newly established Socca Diamonds Cup for players under the age of 12. The series of tournaments is expected to bring approximately 2,500 visitors to the region.
