Rethymno to host symposium on Nikolaos Papadogiannakis

The Center of Cretan Literature is organizing a literary symposium in Rethymno dedicated to the works of Nikolaos Papadogiannakis. The event is scheduled to take place at Theomitora on Monday, November 30, 2026.

Papadogiannakis is an emeritus professor at the University of Crete and the former president of the Historical and Folklore Society of Rethymno. The symposium aims to highlight his diverse contributions to poetry, prose, and folklore, as well as his interest in the history and culture of Crete.

The program features presentations by several academics and philologists, including Alexandra Zervou, Elpiniki Nikoloudaki-Souri, Maria Patrelaki, Atalanti Michelogiannakis, Manolis Patedakis, and Kostas Moutzouris. The session will be coordinated by Vangelis Vassalos.
