Retired bureaucrat found dead in Ranchi flat

Sunil Kumar Singh, a 61-year-old retired bureaucrat, was found dead in a flat near Sidho-Kanhu Park in Ranchi on Sunday. Singh, a resident of Patna, Bihar, had retired from his position as Deputy Development Commissioner (DDC) of Ranchi one year ago.

Police reported that Singh was living alone in the flat while his family remained in Patna. An eight-page suicide note was recovered at the scene, in which he reportedly detailed his suffering due to old-age ailments, including severe joint pain.

An unnatural death case has been lodged by the Lalpur police station, and an investigation is ongoing. The body was handed over to family members following a post-mortem examination at RIMS, Ranchi. Authorities stated that the exact cause of death will be confirmed once the autopsy report is finalized.
