Guido Rodríguez Vargas extradited from Colombia to Ecuador

Guido Fernando Rodríguez Vargas, known as alias Comandante 7, has been extradited from Colombia to Ecuador. A high-value target with an Interpol Red Notice, Rodríguez Vargas is a prominent leader of the Los Tiguerones criminal organization.

His capture occurred on September 10, 2026, in Soacha, Colombia, during a coordinated operation involving the Colombian National Police and Ecuador's National Intelligence Center. The extradition was finalized on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Rodríguez Vargas faces charges of organized crime and homicide in Ecuador. Authorities identified him as a key logistical link between criminal activities in Colombia and Ecuador, specifically managing illicit funds in the Esmeraldas and Nariño regions. Following his arrival, he is scheduled to be transferred to the El Encuentro maximum-security prison to face judicial proceedings. Additionally, the Colombian National Civil Registry canceled his citizenship documents due to identity irregularities discovered during the investigation.
