Retirees protest healthcare service disruptions in Mexico and Argentina

In Mexico, retired oil workers and their families held a demonstration in Xalapa to demand that Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) restore medical services. The suspension of subcontracted medical services on September 30 has left approximately 5,300 people, including active workers and retirees, in a vulnerable position. Affected individuals include those with chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, as well as patients requiring regular hemodialysis.

In Argentina, residents of Dolores marched to the local PAMI headquarters to demand improved healthcare for retirees and pensioners. The protest was organized by the family of Juan Antonio Lazzaro, who died after a 26-day hospitalization without a clear diagnosis or transfer to a more complex medical center. Protesters submitted a petition calling for better medical coordination, increased investment in equipment, and more effective communication between healthcare providers and families.
