retoflow secures seven-figure investment for energy grid software

retoflow, a Fraunhofer spin-off based in Kassel, has secured a seven-figure investment from BM H Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen through HessenFonds Beteiligungen GmbH. The capital is intended to drive technological development and sales expansion for the DeepTech company.

retoflow specializes in creating digital twins of energy infrastructures, including electricity, gas, and heating networks. By integrating heterogeneous data from various systems and formats into a single computable environment, the software allows municipal utilities and grid operators to simulate future scenarios. This capability helps identify potential bottlenecks and plan necessary grid reinforcements or expansions, facilitating the complex transition required by energy system decarbonization.
