Retro gaming trends: ScummVM software and LEGO Game Boy set

Retro gaming enthusiasts have several new ways to engage with classic titles. ScummVM offers a method to run vintage MS-DOS and Windows 3.1 games on modern hardware, including Windows 11, macOS, and Android. Unlike traditional emulators that recreate entire hardware environments, ScummVM re-implements game engines to translate original graphics, sounds, and dialogue for native execution, resulting in low resource consumption.

Additionally, LEGO has released a detailed 421-piece construction set replicating the original Nintendo Game Boy. Designed for adults, the model features functional buttons, volume and contrast wheels, and interchangeable Game Pak cartridges for titles such as Super Mario Land and The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. The set includes lenticular sheets to simulate the original screen effect.
