Retro Jazz to celebrate 15 years with Gala del Cancionero Dominicano

The Dominican musical group Retro Jazz is preparing for the ‘Gala del Cancionero Dominicano’ to celebrate its 15th anniversary. The concert is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at 8:30 p.m. in the Carlos Piantini Hall of the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito.

Founder and director Pengbian Sang noted that the performance will feature expanded orchestrations created by himself, his son Su-Chan Sang, and band members Álvaro Dinzey and Melvin Rodríguez. The group aims to deepen its musical essence by performing with a full orchestra, which includes members from the National Symphony Orchestra directed by Junior Basurto.

The musical lineup includes saxophonist Eliezer Paniagua, drummer Guy Frómeta, and percussionist Edgar Molina. The production is a collaboration between Sinomúsica and Talentox, and tickets are available through UEPA Tickets.
