Retzer Industry hosts workshop on flood protection and housing in Eitorf

Retzer Industry Eitorf GmbH & Co. KG organized a workshop in Eitorf on August 26, 2026, to address the integration of flood protection, economic development, and the need for residential housing. The event, titled ‘Sicher bauen, sicher wohnen – Hochwasserschutz als Grundlage für Eitorf’, brought together approximately 30 experts from science, politics, administration, and business.

A primary focus of the discussion was a planned residential construction project on the Gauhes Wiesen site, which aims to provide 86 housing units. Architect Jo Rutzen of Tinyways e. V. presented the planning and economic viability of the project, emphasizing a sustainable construction approach designed to accommodate specific environmental constraints and climate resilience.
