Reunion of Romanian National Theaters held in Chisinau
The 11th edition of the Reunion of Romanian National Theaters is taking place in Chisinau, Moldova, from September 9 to 21, 2026. The event serves as a cultural bridge between Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
Highlights of the festival include the performance of “Bolnavii” (The Sick) by the National Theater of Timișoara, a play by Antonio Álamo that explores totalitarianism through historical figures such as Hitler, Eva Braun, Stalin, and Winston Churchill. Additionally, the “A. P. Chekhov” Russian State Dramatic Theater is participating for the first time with the production “Chekhov’s Machine” by Matei Vișniec. The festival also features “The Inspector” by Nikolai Gogol, presented by the “Vasile Alecsandri” National Theater from Balti.
