Reus and Torredembarra implement urban and library service updates

Urban and cultural services are undergoing changes in the regions of Reus and Torredembarra. In Reus, construction has begun to transform a former blue zone parking area in front of the Xavier Amorós Central Library into a new green plaza. The project, awarded to RS Agrotècnica del Segrià for 420,000 euros, covers nearly 3,000 square meters. The space will feature native Mediterranean vegetation, walking paths, and an outdoor library agora to host cultural activities and readings.

In Torredembarra, the municipal libraries will implement new operating hours starting September 7 to better serve the community. The Mestra Maria Antònia Library will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 20:00, and Saturdays from 10:00 to 13:00. The Baix a Mar Library will open on Fridays from 16:00 to 20:00. This expansion follows a municipal reading plan and represents a significant increase in weekly service hours.
