Reus education officials cancel Els Ganxets school relocation

The Department of Education has ruled out relocating the Els Ganxets school to the former Ciutat de Reus school facilities in the Gaudí neighborhood. Instead, the authorities plan to use part of those premises to expand the Font de Lleó Special Education Center (CEE) to meet the growing demand for inclusive education places.

This decision aligns with the wishes of the Els Ganxets educational community and its Parents' Association (AFA), which expressed a desire to remain at their current location on Passeig del Nord. While the community supports staying in their current natural environment, they are calling for a definitive roadmap to replace their current prefabricated modules with a permanent school building in the medium term.
