Reus Municipal Libraries see 6% increase in summer visitors

The Municipal Libraries of Reus recorded 32,590 users during the months of July and August, marking a 6% increase compared to the same period last year. This growth was observed at the Xavier Amorós Central Library and the Pere Anguera Library.

Primary motivations for visits included book loans, studying, and participation in specific cultural programming. Approximately 1,930 people, or 5.9% of total visitors, participated in organized activities. This year's programming focused heavily on knowledge dissemination, featuring themes related to the Year of Gaudí and the solar eclipse.

Key initiatives included the ‘Especial Eclipse’ cycle, which connected astronomy with culture through lectures by astrophysicist Josep Miquel Girart and astronomical storytelling. Other successful programs included the ‘Biblioteques amb DO’ and ‘Chillout’ cycles, as well as family workshops and literary routes related to Antoni Gaudí.
