Reus municipal urban gardens open to 44 residents
On 28 July, Reus Mayor Sandra Guaita and Councilor Maria del Mar Escoda handed over keys to 44 users of the city’s municipal urban‑garden plots. The allocation follows a public call launched in May that attracted 53 applicants for 49 licences. Forty‑four applicants met the criteria and received keys; five licences remain vacant and will be re‑offered. The awarded parcels are located in three neighbourhoods – Magda Folch i Solà (7 parcels), Raval Sol i Vista (21 parcels) and Carrer Astorga (16 parcels). Each licence lasts three years and requires a refundable €30 deposit. The city will hold an informational meeting for users and organise training on ecological cultivation and community activities.
