Revúca and Rožňava register mayoral candidates for 2026 elections

Municipal election preparations are underway in several Slovak towns ahead of the October 24, 2026, elections.

In Revúca, four candidates have officially registered to run for mayor: Lucia Búšová, Ľubomíra Benešová, Zuzana Nosáľová, and Marek Vrbjar. The position is open as the current mayor, Július Buchta, announced he would not seek a third term.

In Rožňava, the municipal election commission has registered five candidates for the mayoral office, including incumbent Michal Domik. The mayoral field consists entirely of men. Additionally, 42 candidates have registered to compete for 13 seats on the city council.
