Revelstoke selects Neptune Technology Group to install 3,720 water meters
The City of Revelstoke is moving to volume‑based water billing this year and has contracted Neptune Technology Group to install 3,720 automated water meters in residential, commercial and institutional properties. The province provided $4.64 million for the project, while Neptune’s bid was $3.303 million before taxes. The program is reported to be $1.7 million under budget and is not expected to raise resident costs if buildings meet the 2024 BC Building Code.
Neptune plans to begin surveying properties in August, start installation shortly thereafter and complete the work by late November. All properties, including multi‑unit buildings, will receive meters, and the province hopes the detailed usage data will cut water consumption by up to 30 percent, supporting conservation and drought‑mitigation goals.
