Reverion secures $175 million to build German megafactory

Bavarian energy technology company Reverion has secured $175 million in a Series B funding round to transition from a deep-tech developer to an industrial manufacturer. The round was led by the European deep-tech and climate fund Kembara, with participation from new investors including Allianz, KfW Capital, aurum Capital, and Carbon Equity.

The company intends to use the capital to establish a new production facility in Germany with an annual capacity of 250 megawatts, which could create up to 800 new jobs. This expansion aims to increase Reverion’s manufacturing capacity tenfold and advance its reversible fuel cell technology for multi-megawatt projects.

Reverion develops container-based, reversible fuel cell power plants capable of converting biogas, natural gas, or hydrogen. While the company currently serves biogas plants, utilities, and industrial firms, it is increasingly targeting energy-intensive data centers as a key market.
