RE:VISION Free School opens in Tama with eSports and ICT learning

The RE:VISION Free School Seiseki-Sakuragaoka has opened in Tama, Tokyo, offering a specialized educational environment for elementary and junior high school students experiencing school refusal. Operated by minato Co., Ltd., the facility combines eSports-based social interaction with individualized learning through the “Tenjin X” ICT educational software developed by Tao Co., Ltd.

The school utilizes a franchise model to expand its approach, which integrates gaming as an entry point for social engagement with structured academic support. The “Tenjin X” platform is designed to be textbook-compliant, allowing students to learn at their own pace from first grade through junior high school. It includes features such as animations, audio hints, and progress reports that can be used as documentation for parents or to help schools recognize external learning for official academic records.

This development follows data from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, which indicates that approximately one in four students experiencing school refusal (roughly 81,467 out of 354,000 students) have had their learning achievements from outside the traditional classroom reflected in their official school records.
