Revo Hospitality Group layoffs affect 500 German hotel workers

The insolvent Revo Hospitality Group, which filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, was taken over by Indian hotel operator Prism. Prism plans to run 24 of Revo's hotels under the Sunday brand.

Despite the takeover, about 500 employees at the German locations are being dismissed. The German union Nahrung‑Genuss‑Gaststätten (NGG) has called for an immediate halt to the terminations, accusing Revo of exploiting insolvency rules to shorten notice periods to a maximum of three months. NGG spokesperson Mark Baumeister demanded greater transparency, the inclusion of works councils in decision‑making, and urged affected staff to seek legal advice.

Revo and Prism have not provided an explanation for the job cuts, leaving the workers and their representatives uncertain about the future.
