Revolta Escolar demands improved school zone safety in Sant Cugat
The activist group Revolta Escolar is intensifying pressure on the Sant Cugat City Council to implement more ambitious measures for pacifying school environments. Following months of mobilization, the collective of families aims to regroup and establish a new calendar of actions to address safety and mobility around educational centers.
The group claims that the execution of a 2022 institutional agreement—which included restricting motorized traffic and removing parking spaces near schools—has been insufficient due to a lack of political will from the local government. To increase visibility, the group is considering more frequent street protests and the creation of bicycle networks similar to those in Barcelona.
