Revolut and NVIDIA launch AI research unit for financial services

London-based fintech Revolut has announced the launch of Revolut Research, a new division focused on developing artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies for the financial sector. A primary project within this division is PRAGMA, a foundation model created in collaboration with NVIDIA.

Designed to analyze complex financial behaviors, PRAGMA supports real-time credit risk assessment, operations management, and personalized product recommendations. Revolut aims to embed these AI systems directly into its financial infrastructure rather than applying external tools to legacy systems.

Early testing of the PRAGMA model against historical data showed significant performance gains over traditional systems. The company reported that the model was 2.3 times more accurate in identifying credit default risks, detected 65% more fraud cases, and improved alert precision by 17%. Additionally, the relevance of product recommendations for retail and business customers improved by 41%.
