Revolut launches EURR euro-backed stablecoin in Europe
Fintech company Revolut has launched EURR, its first euro-pegged stablecoin, marking a strategic move to bridge traditional fiat and on-chain digital assets. The token is designed to maintain a 1:1 value with the euro and is compliant with the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.
The initial phased rollout is available to selected customers in Denmark, Poland, and Portugal. Revolut plans to expand availability to other markets within the European Economic Area (EEA) later in 2026. The stablecoin will be integrated directly into the Revolut retail app, allowing users to move between euros and crypto on-chain.
EURR is issued by Bridge Building S.A., a Luxembourg-based entity owned by the Stripe-acquired infrastructure firm Bridge. The token will initially launch on the Ethereum blockchain, with plans to expand support to other networks such as Polygon and Solana, as well as enabling transfers to external wallets. This launch is part of a broader strategy to develop stablecoins linked to other currencies.
