Revolut leads $236bn surge in European private tech valuations

Europe is seeing a structural shift in its private technology sector, with the ten most valuable startups collectively valued at approximately $236 billion. While consumer fintech has historically dominated, the new generation of high-value companies is increasingly concentrated in defense technology, artificial intelligence, computing infrastructure, enterprise software, and preventative healthcare.

London-based Revolut leads the European market significantly, reaching a reported $115 billion valuation in July 2026. This figure represents a substantial increase from its $75 billion valuation in late 2025. The company serves roughly 75 million customers and reported £1.7 billion in pre-tax profit for 2025.

Despite data showing a net loss of high-growth business owners from the UK between 2024 and 2026, London remains a major global player. It currently stands as the third most important AI hub in the world, trailing only the US and China, and remains Europe’s largest producer of unicorns.
