Revolut to launch private tech investment platform in 2027

Fintech company Revolut has announced the creation of Revolut Ventures, a new platform designed to allow eligible retail investors to invest in private technology companies directly through the Revolut app. Scheduled to launch in 2027, the initiative is being developed in partnership with Carne Group, which will act as the alternative investment fund manager (AIFM). Other key partners include Alter Domus as fund administrator and BNY as custodian and depositary.

The move addresses a growing trend where technology companies remain private for longer periods before conducting an initial public offering (IPO). According to data cited by Revolut, the median age of companies at the time of their IPO increased from 6.9 years in 2014 to 11 years in 2025. Rolandas Juteika, Head of Wealth and Trading for the EEA, stated that the goal is to “dismantle one of the final barriers in wealth management: retail investor exclusion from non-listed companies.”

While the platform aims to provide access to high-growth opportunities previously reserved for institutional investors, Revolut noted that investments in private companies carry significant risks, including lower liquidity and the potential for total loss of capital. The announcement follows Revolut's introduction of private market products in selected European Economic Area jurisdictions in July 2026.
