Revolution Medicines receives FDA approval for Rasonque
Revolution Medicines has received FDA approval for Rasonque (daraxonrasib), an oral therapy for treating adults with metastatic pancreatic cancer who have previously received other therapies or are ineligible for combination chemotherapy.
Clinical data from the Phase 3 RASolute 302 study demonstrated that patients treated with Rasonque achieved a median overall survival of 13.2 months, compared to 6.7 months for those receiving conventional chemotherapy. This represents a 60% reduction in the risk of death by targeting RAS proteins. The drug also shows efficacy in treating advanced non-small cell lung cancer and potentially colorectal cancers.
The monthly cost for a 30-day supply is set at $39,800. CEO Mark Goldsmith expressed confidence that private insurers and Medicare will provide rapid coverage due to the drug’s therapeutic value. Following the announcement, Revolution Medicines' stock saw positive movement, continuing a significant upward trend for the company.
