Revolution Wind completes installation of all 65 turbines

The 704 MW Revolution Wind offshore wind project has completed the installation of all 65 turbines. Located more than 15 miles south of the Rhode Island coast, the project is a 50-50 joint venture between Skyborn Renewables, a unit of Global Infrastructure Partners, and Ørsted.

While the project began delivering electricity to the New England grid on March 14, full energization is expected by the end of 2026. Once fully operational, the wind farm is projected to supply enough electricity for more than 350,000 homes and businesses under 20-year fixed-price agreements with utilities in Rhode Island and Connecticut.

Estimates from Connecticut's Department of Energy and Environmental Protection suggest that the project could save New England ratepayers as much as $500 million annually in wholesale energy costs upon reaching full commercial operations.
