Rewa flood relief: Water levels recede after mass evacuations

Heavy rainfall in Rewa has caused flood-like conditions, leading to the evacuation of over 700 people into eight relief camps. The administration is providing essential supplies, including food, water, and medicine, to those displaced. SDRF and NDRF teams have been deployed to assist with rescue and relief operations.

Following a period of intense rain, water levels in the Behar and Bichhiya rivers began to recede after midnight on Thursday, providing some relief to residents. Flooding in key areas such as Govindgarh and Gaddi Road has subsided, allowing for the resumption of normal traffic. However, authorities remain on alert as river currents remain higher than usual, and some areas, such as the gates of Lakshman Bagh near the Bichhiya River, remain submerged.

Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla inspected several relief camps and coordination centers to review the distribution of aid and the safety of affected wards. Local officials continue to monitor low-lying areas to manage any further emergencies.
