Rewe halts Coca-Cola orders following price increase dispute

The German supermarket chain Rewe has reportedly halted all new orders of Coca-Cola products following a dispute over rising wholesale prices. This decision follows an announcement by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Deutschland (CCEP DE) to increase its delivery prices by an average of 3.5 percent, effective September 1, 2026.

The price hike affects a wide range of popular brands, including Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Mezzo Mix, Monster, Powerade, and Fuze Tea. CCEP DE cited increased costs in production, logistics, and wages, as well as investments in brand development and its network of locations, as the primary drivers for the adjustment.

While Rewe has stopped replenishing its stock for the entire product range, the products have not yet disappeared from shelves. Availability for consumers will depend on how long existing inventory lasts. It remains unclear how much of this wholesale price increase will be passed on to retail customers.
