Rex returns to Vienna in new crime series

The iconic police dog Rex returns to Vienna in a new television production titled ‘Rex: Vienna Calling’. The series follows the German Shepherd as he partners with experienced homicide inspector Max Steiner to solve complex criminal cases, including investigations into bomb plots and suspicious deaths.

Set against the backdrop of the Austrian capital, the production consists of six 90-minute episodes, each functioning as a standalone film. Alongside the criminal investigations, the series explores Steiner’s personal life following the unexpected return of his adult daughter, Anna.

The series features a supporting cast including detective Felix Burger, pathologist Dr. Tom Wippler, and department head Evelyn Leitner. Having been broadcast in over 120 countries since its debut, the franchise continues its international presence with this new chapter.
