Rexrodt von Fircks Foundation raises €25,000 for cancer rehab program

A gala event held at Kulturgut Hasselburg raised €25,000 to support the ‘gemeinsam gesund werden’ (getting healthy together) rehabilitation program. The program, based at Klinik Ostseedeich in Grömitz, provides specialized support for mothers suffering from cancer and their families.

The event marked the 20th anniversary of the program, which was founded by Annette Rexrodt von Fircks. Dr. Rüdiger Gaase, Chairman of the Rexrodt von Fircks Foundation, honored her legacy, noting that the initiative has supported 11,000 mothers, 14,500 children, and 4,000 partners to date.

The evening featured contributions from ARD moderator Okka Gundel and included remarks from medical professionals, such as Prof. Dr. Achim Rhody of UKSH Lübeck, emphasizing the importance of family-centered care during cancer treatment.
