Police in Rey County have arrested a middle-aged man for the murder of his wife following a family dispute. The victim had been missing since early July, after she disappeared from her home and her mobile phone went out of service.
According to Colonel Hossein Mafi, the Rey County Police Commander, the suspect confessed to the killing during technical interrogations. He subsequently led investigators to a location near Chalghoz village on the outskirts of Tehran, where the remains of the body were discovered. The suspect claimed he buried the body to conceal the crime following a verbal altercation.
Authorities are currently investigating the suspect's claims regarding the death of another young girl to determine if there are links to previous cases.
