Rey Mysterio reflects on Hall of Fame, WWE‑AAA partnership and new cartoon series

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio was inducted at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles and used the occasion to recount a risky “lawn‑dart” spot he volunteered for with Kevin Nash during his WCW days, noting he never imagined it would still be discussed 30 years later.

Mysterio also highlighted the growing WWE‑AAA partnership, describing the live‑event atmosphere as “incredible” and noting that AAA gave him his first national‑TV exposure in 1992. He is now serving as AAA’s General Manager, bringing his career full circle.

In addition, Mysterio announced the animated series “Rey Mysterio vs. The Darkness,” a project he has envisioned for decades. He voiced the title character in both English and Spanish and explained the series features a young sidekick, Oscar, modeled on his own early self. The creator hopes to expand the show to multiple seasons in the United States.
