Reynosa truck driver flees after hitting pickup truck
Two people were injured during a collision involving a semi-truck and a Ford pickup truck in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, during the early hours of Saturday. The accident occurred around 4:30 AM on the Monterrey bypass near the Puerta del Sol neighborhood return.
According to reports, the occupants of the pickup truck were returning home after finishing a work shift at a taquería. The semi-truck driver allegedly ran a red light while traveling from west to east, striking the pickup truck as it was using the return. The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles.
Following the collision, the truck driver abandoned the heavy vehicle and fled the scene on foot before authorities arrived. Red Cross paramedics treated a man and a woman at the site before transporting them to a hospital for medical evaluation. Local traffic authorities and the State Guard have launched investigations to determine responsibility and locate the driver.
