Rezza Octavia targets 2026 Asian Games for Olympic qualification

Indonesian recurve archer Rezza Octavia has identified the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya as a critical stepping stone toward qualifying for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics. The 25-year-old athlete, who competed in the Paris 2024 Olympics, stated that her primary goal is to secure an Olympic ticket, regardless of whether she wins a medal.

The 2026 Asian Games serve as a strategic qualification event under World Archery regulations. Olympic quotas can be earned through individual performances, where the top two athletes in the men’s and women’s recurve categories secure spots for their respective National Olympic Committees (NOCs), or through the mixed team recurve event, where the winning NOC receives one male and one female quota.

Rezza aims to achieve a competitive score of approximately 670 to bolster her chances. She previously demonstrated her capability at the Hangzhou Asian Games, where she advanced to the individual elimination phase.
