RFEF blocks FC Andorra licences over unpaid debts to former coach Eder Sarabia

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) issued a resolution on 9 July prohibiting the issuance or renewal of any federative licences for FC Andorra until the club proves payment of outstanding debts to former head coach Eder Sarabia and his assistant Jon López. The debts amount to €411,557.04 to Sarabia and €43,901.47 to López, stemming from a contractual dispute following their dismissal in March 2024 and a tribunal ruling in their favour.

The sanction, which affects licences for players, coaches and other staff, also prevents the club – owned by former Barcelona player Gerard Piqué – from registering new signings for the upcoming 2026/27 season. The RFEF gave the club a five‑day deadline to settle the amounts; failure to do so could also block the renewal of licences for existing squad members. The decision converts a previously judicial dispute into an immediate sporting consequence, directly impacting FC Andorra's preparation for the new season.
