RFS nears Latvian championship title after victory

RFS has moved significantly closer to securing the Latvian football championship title following a 3-0 victory against Super Nova in the 34th round of the TonyBet Virslīga. Žiga Lipuščeks scored twice, including a header in the 50th minute and another in the 88th minute, while Darko Lemajičs added a goal in the 59th minute.

With 86 points from 34 matches, RFS could mathematically secure the title if Riga loses to Grobiņa. Other recent results in the league include Auda defeating Ogres United 4-1 and Daugavpils winning 1-0 against Jelgava. Meanwhile, FK Liepāja played to a 0-0 draw against Tukums 2000.
