RGG Studio announces Netflix film adaptation for ‘Stranger Than Heaven’
At Tokyo Game Show 2026, RGG Studio revealed new details regarding its upcoming title, ‘Stranger Than Heaven’. A major highlight is the announcement of a Netflix film adaptation. Masayoshi Yokoyama, Executive Director of RGG Studio, noted that Netflix Hollywood approached the studio following the impact of the game’s initial trailers, expressing interest in the Japanese atmosphere and storytelling. The project will involve Sega executive Toru Nakahara, who has worked on the ‘Sonic’ films.
Additionally, gameplay footage was showcased featuring the character Keiko Shirai, voiced by popular Japanese singer Ado. The character is a pivotal singer in the game’s narrative. Producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto and veteran voice actor Takaya Kuroda praised Ado’s performance, noting her ability to convey deep emotional nuance and naturalistic reactions during voice recording sessions. The game’s development team emphasized a focus on atmospheric lighting and high-quality visual presentation of details, such as food scenes, to enhance the player experience.
