RGG Studio announces Stranger Than Heaven
RGG Studio, the developer behind the ‘Like a Dragon’ series, is developing a new narrative-driven action game titled ‘Stranger Than Heaven’. The game follows the 50-year life journey of protagonist Makoto Daito, a man of mixed heritage struggling to find his place within his own culture.
Set across different decades and locations—including 1915 San Francisco, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, and Osaka—the title features a unique combat system with independent control for the left and right sides of the body. Beyond combat, the game incorporates a showbusiness feature where players engage in song composition and live performance production.
Music serves as a central theme in the narrative and gameplay, acting as a tool for the protagonist to communicate and find fairness. The game is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 on January 15, 2027.
