RGIPT holds 2026 Orientation Programme at Jais Campus

The Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) held its Orientation Programme 2026 at the Jais Campus. During the event, Director Prof. Harish Hirani emphasized a shift in technical education toward experiential learning, innovation, and industry readiness.

Prof. Hirani noted that in an era of accessible information and Artificial Intelligence, students must prioritize creativity, independent thinking, and problem-solving. To support this, the institute is implementing a strengthened mentorship ecosystem involving both faculty members and industry professionals from leading organizations and public sector undertakings.

The academic model also focuses on entrepreneurship, encouraging students to develop solutions for real-life problems through design and innovation projects. Successful ideas may receive financial support to progress through incubation toward patents and start-ups. Additionally, the institute is expanding its curriculum beyond traditional petroleum studies to include the broader energy-transition ecosystem.
