Órgiva to host first southern edition of Artists' Encounters

The town of Órgiva will host the first edition of the ‘Encuentros de Artistas en el Sur’ from October 18 to 22. This event marks a southern expansion of the ‘Encuentros de Artistas’ series, which previously held 15 editions in Galicia.

Supported by the Órgiva City Council and the Asociación de la Ruta de Boabdil, the initiative aims to establish the Alpujarras region as a significant hub for contemporary art. The program offers 40 open spots for artists across various disciplines. The organization provides full expense coverage and a 100 euro travel voucher for participants.

The inaugural edition will be opened by Granada-based artist Marina Vargas. Other confirmed participants include Alberto García Alix, Boamistura, Studio Cristina Lucas, and Mary Canes, among others.
