Rhea Ripley's Knee Injury Cancels Planned Women’s Title Match at Night of Champions

WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley suffered a knee injury that has kept her out of action since the Clash in Italy event. Reports from Fightful Select indicated that before the injury she was slated to defend the women’s title at Night of Champions 2026, potentially against either Jacy Jayne or Alexa Bliss. Those plans were abandoned because of Ripley’s injury, and similar speculation suggested a possible SummerSlam matchup that also will not occur until her recovery status is known.

The cancellation alters the Night of Champions card, leaving the women’s championship and related storylines to be reshaped by WWE without Ripley’s participation.
