Rheden begins Schietbergseweg infrastructure works

The municipality of Rheden will begin infrastructure works on the high section of Schietbergseweg on October 5. The project, part of the Veluwezoom Masterplan, aims to balance nature conservation, recreation, and livability in the area.

Collaborating with the municipalities of Rheden and Rozendaal, as well as Natuurmonumenten, the initiative seeks to protect the fragile Veluwezoom nature reserve, spread out visitor traffic, and reduce congestion. Improvements include laying new asphalt, installing semi-hard surfacing, finishing verges, and constructing a center guide to enhance safety for cyclists and pedestrians.

Schietbergseweg HOOG will be closed to traffic from October 5 until November 17. While De Posbank pavilion remains accessible by car on weekdays via Beekhuizenseweg, it will be inaccessible by car during weekends. Subsequent works on Schietbergseweg LAAG are scheduled from November 18 to December 3, though this section will not be closed to traffic.
