Rheinbach stabbing: 66-year-old critically injured in knife attack
A 36-year-old man has been arrested in Rheinbach, Germany, after a stabbing attack left a 66-year-old man with life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred around 3:20 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
The attack followed an earlier incident of domestic violence on Monday evening, during which the suspect allegedly insulted and threatened a 20-year-old woman before being expelled from her apartment. Hours later, the man reportedly entered the apartment of the woman's mother through a window, where a dispute led to the stabbing of the 66-year-old victim.
The victim is currently receiving intensive medical care. The Bonn Police have assigned a homicide commission to the investigation, and the Bonn Public Prosecutor's Office is working with investigators to examine the suspicion of attempted murder.
