Rheinland-Pfalz announces 24th School Cinema Week for 2026

The 24th SchulKinoWoche Rheinland-Pfalz is scheduled to take place from November 19 to 27, 2026. Organized by VISION KINO and the Filmbüro at the Pädagogisches Landesinstitut, the event will involve 40 cinemas across the state, including locations in Kaiserslautern and Enkenbach-Alsenborn.

Under the theme ‘Films connect: Remembering together, living democracy, shaping visions!’, the program offers feature films, documentaries, and animations designed as pedagogical tools. Since its inception in 2003, the initiative has reached over 850,000 participants. Students can attend for a reduced fee of 5 euros, with accompanying educational materials provided to integrate the films into classroom curricula.

To support educators, a series of nine online training sessions will be offered from September to late November, covering topics such as fake news, documentary films in teaching, and addressing prejudice and antisemitism.
