Rheinland-Pfalz ranks twelfth in Bildungsmonitor education study

Rheinland-Pfalz has maintained its twelfth-place position in the Bildungsmonitor, a comparative study conducted by the Institut der deutschen Wirtschaft on behalf of the Initiative Neue Soziale Marktwirtschaft (INSM). The ranking places the state in the lower middle field of the German federal states.

Strengths identified in Rheinland-Pfalz include above-average foreign language instruction in primary and vocational schools, as well as a high proportion of successful graduates from vocational colleges.

However, the report highlights several areas for improvement, including low third-party funding per professor, a shortage of IT university graduates, an imbalanced age structure among vocational school teachers, and low all-day school attendance rates. In the overall national ranking, Saxony secured the top position, while Bremen ranked last.
