Rheinmetall develops new armored vehicles and drone launch systems
Defense company Rheinmetall is advancing new combat technologies designed for high-intensity warfare. In collaboration with Lockheed Martin, the company has developed the Fuchs EVO, an evolved 6x6 armored vehicle. This version, acting as a tank hunter, features upgraded armor, a more powerful engine, and a digital internal architecture. It is equipped with the Joint Air to Ground Missile (JAGM) to target armored formations and includes optronic modules for long-distance surveillance.
Additionally, Rheinmetall has successfully demonstrated its FV-014 loitering munition system, commonly known as kamikaze drones, launched from a modular container-based missile launcher. During tests in Saxony-Anhalt, the system demonstrated the ability to launch drones from an HX truck while in motion. The modular launcher, which uses standardized ISO containers, can hold up to 18 FV-014 units and is compatible with stationary positions, trucks, or naval vessels. Once deployed, the drones can fly for up to 70 minutes for reconnaissance and target engagement.
